Terms of Service
Last updated: 30 September 2026
These Terms & Conditions apply to purchases made through 3LATO, including ready-to-ship pieces, limited drops, pre-made garments, and custom or made-to-measure orders.
By placing an order with 3LATO, you agree to these terms.
1. About 3LATO
3LATO creates considered garments, including limited pieces, pre-made items, and custom made-to-measure work. Every 3LATO garment is designed, patterned, knitted, and finished by hand in our dedicated United Kingdom atelier. We do not engage in dropshipping or third-party mass production. Availability, production timelines, and garment details may vary depending on the nature of the order.
Many pieces are one-of-a-kind or produced in very limited quantities. Once sold, a design may not be repeated in the same colourway or configuration.
2. Product information
We aim to describe all pieces as accurately as possible, including fabric, fit, colour, and sizing. Slight variations may occur due to screen settings, natural fabric behaviour, hand finishing, or the made-to-measure process. Delicate hand-finished pieces, including beading, require careful handling as described in the care instructions provided with your order.
For custom orders, the final piece is created according to the measurements, preferences, and agreed design details provided during the order process.
3. Orders
Once an order is placed, you will receive confirmation by email. 3LATO reserves the right to refuse or cancel an order if there is an error in pricing, availability, payment, or product information.
For custom orders, a deposit may be required to begin the process. The remaining balance must be paid before the item is shipped.
4. Custom and made-to-measure orders
Custom orders are created specifically for the client and are confirmed only after 3LATO accepts the enquiry in writing.
Once work has begun, fabric has been reserved, or production time has been allocated, custom order deposits are non-refundable unless otherwise agreed in writing.
The balance is due before shipping. Delays in payment may delay dispatch.
Custom orders are accepted case by case. Timelines and feasibility depend on design complexity, materials, and your required delivery date.
5. Customisation boundaries
Customisation requests must remain within the 3LATO design language. 3LATO does not accept requests to copy another designer's work or to reproduce third-party designs without appropriate rights.
If you enquire about a sold-out design, remakes may be offered as a custom order but exact colourways and details are not guaranteed to match a previous piece.
6. Sizing and tailoring after purchase
Ready-to-ship, drop, and pre-made purchases require sizing or tailoring confirmation before production or dispatch can begin. You should provide measurements or fit details as soon as possible after purchase, and within the timeframe we request.
Production and dispatch cannot begin until the required sizing information has been received. Any delay caused by late or incomplete sizing information may delay your order. That delay is the customer's responsibility and does not extend agreed delivery timelines or create liability for 3LATO.
Failure to provide requested sizing information within the timeframe we requested may limit fit-related resolutions.
7. Pricing and payment
Prices are shown at checkout in the currency displayed at the time of purchase (such as USD or GBP). All online card transactions are processed securely using industry-standard SSL/TLS encryption through certified Level 1 PCI-DSS compliant payment gateways (including Shopify Payments and Airwallex (US) LLC). We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay, and eligible instalment services displayed at checkout. All card transactions will appear on your cardholder statement under the descriptor 3LATO or 3LATO HANDMADE. Transactions processed in USD will settle in USD without unexpected foreign currency conversion fees for US cardholders. For standard website orders, payment in full is required before dispatch.
For custom orders agreed separately, payment may be split between a deposit and a final balance as confirmed in writing by 3LATO. A confirmed order is charged at the price agreed at confirmation; later catalogue price changes do not apply unless there has been an obvious pricing error.
8. Approved payment arrangements
Manual split payments are not a standard checkout option on the website. They are offered by approval only, for agreed custom or special orders.
Where approved:
- Payment may be split over typically two or three instalments; a deposit of around 30% is a guideline, not a fixed rule.
- The agreed amount and payment reference will be confirmed by 3LATO in writing.
- The order does not ship until fully paid.
- Once work, sourcing, tailoring, or an item hold has started, partial payments or custom-order payments may become non-refundable.
Any manual payment page or link sent by 3LATO forms part of these terms.
9. Shipping
3LATO fulfils orders as Drops (ready-to-ship or pre-made pieces, tailored before dispatch) or custom made orders agreed in writing.
Drop orders usually dispatch within one week once sizing has been received, unless otherwise stated. Custom made dispatch timing is agreed with you before the order is accepted.
For custom made orders, the final balance must be paid before the item is shipped.
Shipping charges and delivery options are shown at checkout. 3LATO ships from the United Kingdom using tracked and insured courier services (including Royal Mail, UPS, and DHL). Delivery estimates are guidance only and are not guaranteed.
In accordance with consumer protection standards and the US FTC 30-Day Mail Order Rule, if dispatch is subject to an unanticipated delay exceeding 30 days beyond the estimated timeline, 3LATO will notify you promptly and offer you the choice to consent to the delay or receive a prompt, full refund.
International shipments are delivered Delivered at Place (DAP / DDU) unless stated otherwise at checkout. For clients in the United States, retail shipments valued under $800 USD typically clear duty-free under the Section 321 de minimis exemption. For other destinations or values above applicable de minimis thresholds, any local import duties, taxes, or clearance fees remain the recipient's responsibility.
Customers are responsible for entering the correct delivery address at checkout.
10. Returns, cancellations & bespoke nature
3LATO operates as a bespoke and made-to-measure atelier. Because every piece is individually created or tailored specifically to client measurements, orders are exempt from statutory change-of-mind return and cancellation rights under applicable consumer protection legislation (including the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 for bespoke and custom goods). For all orders, you may request a cancellation and full refund within 24 hours of purchase, provided pattern cutting, yarn preparation, or garment alteration has not yet commenced. Once production, cutting, or tailoring has begun (or after 24 hours from order placement), orders enter dedicated atelier production and standard change-of-mind returns, exchanges, or cancellations are not accepted.
11. Quality, inspection & remedies
Every piece is quality-checked and carefully packed before dispatch. We hold the right to assess all customer requests on an individual basis:
- We encourage you to inspect your garment promptly upon delivery and notify us at care@us.3lato.com (ideally within 48 hours of delivery to assist with transit investigations, without prejudicing your statutory consumer rights or card scheme dispute rights) with your order number, a description of the issue, and clear photographs.
- 3LATO will review the matter promptly and determine an appropriate remedy, which may include complimentary atelier alteration, repair, remake, or a refund where a satisfactory repair or replacement cannot be made.
- Where a refund is approved by 3LATO, it will be processed directly to your original payment method within 5 to 10 business days.
- Nothing in these terms limits or affects your statutory rights under the UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 or applicable local consumer protection laws for faulty or misdescribed goods.
- Problems caused by normal wear, accidental damage, third-party alterations, or failure to follow care instructions are not covered.
12. Care
Customers are responsible for following garment care instructions. 3LATO is not responsible for damage caused by incorrect washing, drying, steaming, ironing, storage, or handling.
13. Website use & electronic communications
You agree not to misuse the website, attempt to interfere with its operation, copy content without permission, or use 3LATO's intellectual property without consent.
In accordance with the Federal E-SIGN Act (15 U.S.C. § 7001 et seq.) and applicable electronic commerce laws, by placing an order, contacting us, or using the website, you consent to receive communications from 3LATO electronically, including order confirmations, invoices, receipts, policy notices, and customer care responses. You agree that all agreements, notices, disclosures, and other communications provided electronically satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing.
14. Intellectual property
All designs, imagery, copy, branding, product names, and website content belong to 3LATO unless otherwise stated. They may not be copied, reproduced, or used commercially without permission.
15. Limitation of liability
3LATO is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot legally be limited.
16. Changes to these terms
3LATO may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The version published on the website at the time of purchase applies to that order.
